What are the potential implications of deleting groups and CDT's from our dev environment?

We have a significant number of CDT's and User Groups created in error on our dev environment.

These have never been used or referenced anywhere.

They have never been deployed to any other environments.

Not overly keen on deleting objects but was wondering if there would be a downside to deleting just these groups and CDT's?

  • There is not a downside to deleting these objects if they are not referenced by other objects. To verify this, you should check the dependents on the objects you wish to delete as these will be the objects affected. If you only see Applications as the dependents then they should be fine to delete. Be wary of deleting groups because groups may be used for security on Applications which could inadvertently lock you out of viewing the objects in those apps.
