Hi ,
Did you have the chance to take a look at the Export Data Store Entity to Excel smart service?
https://docs.appian.com/suite/help/20.3/Export_To_Excel_Smart_Service.html
As per the documentation of this smart service, "Appian strongly recommends customers to use the Export Data Store Entity to Excel smart service in place of Export SQL to Excel (part of the Excel Tools Plug-in)."
can you please tell me that Export Data Store Entity to Excel will allow me or not to Extract 10-20 thousand records with 60-70 columns in table?
we were facing the same issue - deprecated plug-in. We have gone with the alternative plug-in: https://community.appian.com/b/appmarket/posts/sql-to-excel
And it is working fine for us.
Thanks,
Juergen
Export DSE to Excel should enable you to handle extremely large data sets, as it internally handles paging and therefore is less likely to break. I believe it has a 50 column limit currently. Another severe remaining issue is its inability to accept a base template file, meaning you will basically be forced to always start from scratch with no formatting, additional worksheets, etc. If this is a dealbreaker then you might be stuck with Export SQ to Excel, which still works despite being deprecated.
