I am new to Appian and I am evaluating the Appian.
I want such function depicted in the subject.
I searched in the "Discuss" and some threads said that I can use "Parse Excel to CDT". But I can't find such function in the community version.
There are also some threads saying that some plugins can support such feature. But I can't find any plugins in the community version.
Please anyone can confirm such functions are available in commercial version?
Or any other alternate way to fulfill such function in community version?

Hi,
This plug-in will be useful to import data- https://community.appian.com/b/appmarket/posts/excel-tools
You can import this plugin into your environment via the admin console to make use of them.
Thank you very much.
One more question, is there any document for this plugin? You see, in the configuration page, I have some questions:
1. Data Source Name. How to define this value? the db data store? but it requires "Text" type;2. How to define "Column Names"? strictly align with DB table?3. If my db table's primary key ID is auto-increment, shall I need to provide value null for this field? or I just skip it?
Yes, you can access the document by manually downloading the plug-in from the community. Inside the zip file, there will be a PDF called 'Readme' - it will contain the information about the plugin.
To answer your questions:
3 more questions:1. What's the format for column names? Comma separated string like this? "user_name, login_time, client_ip"?
2. I tried to download by clicking the "Download" button but I didn't get the zip file, but just a text message:"This app is available to download for Appian Customers, Partners, and Employees. Please make sure to self-associate from your profile."What does it mean for "self-associate from your profile"? How can I get that file?3. I wrote "jdbc/Appian" as the data source name, but I got Java exception when I run my workflow:
"java.lang.Exception: This method only work with MySQL databases".
What's wrong with it?
1. I am using the community version provided by official website.
2. This is my config for "Import CSV into DB" task:
CSV Document = pv!uploadFilecolumn names = "name,description,author,category"
data source name = "jdbc/Appian"
delimiter=","
table name = "book"
Please helo.
So, you're having a MariaDB connected to your Appian instance. As the error stated, this smart service will work only with MySQL database.
An alternate option is to use the "Import CSV to Database" smart service under the same plug-in. It also contains similar input parameters.
This really works. Thank you very much.
