Hi,
I am facing a weird problem on Appian 7.9 while trying to show Related Action's Short-cut on a Record-View.
If the Record view's Visibility is set to "true" or "true()" than the Related Action's Short-cuts are visible on the Record-View but when I use some expression rule or a function for setting the visibility of the Record-View the Related Action Short-cuts are not-visible on the Record-View.
Thanks
Arsh

Is the result of the expression true? It might also be the case with the security settings for the record.

Can you post the expression? It's worth testing the rule in the expression editor and confirming you are getting a Boolean back not a list with a single value of true as that probably won't work.

even a simple function like
if(
1=1,
true,
false
)
won't show the related actions short-cut on the top of the sub-record-view page
the visibility is for the record-view dashboard so if the record-view dashboard is visible I do not see a reason why the related actions are not shown on top of the page.
the related actions are available in the related actions tab.

I'm perhaps missing the question then.. You can set the availability of the related action at all, but the visibility of said action on any dashboard is effectively yes/ no check box and not expression driven? I've had a play and I cant replicate the problem. ie my shortcut appears in all cases when the related action is available be the action visibility be fixed or by a simple expression as per your above one. (though I'm 7.10)

I am also unable to replicate on Appian version 9.0.0
I have my visibility set to if(1=1, true, false) and my related action shortcut turned on to that related action and I can see it on the record view

The problem arises on setting the visibility of the Dashboard not the Related Action.
The Related Action is available on the Related Actions Tab.
But not on the top of the Dashboard (Set by selecting from the Related Action Shortcuts section of the Edit View) is affected. if the Dashboard's Visibility is set to "true" or "true()" all works as expected but if I use an expression like if(1=1, true, false) for setting the visibility of the dashboard. The Related Action's shortcuts are not shown on the top of the Dashboard.
chrism967: I can set the visibility of the related action without any issues/
visibility of said action on any dashboard is affected.

Are you using the same user id to verify the visibility when it is set to true?
If your answer is no, can you check the Process model security settings to ensure the user has necessary access.
