how to check the size of an array local variable?

generally you might use length( local!array ) depending on what exactly you need. if there's any chance your array might be "null" (instead of merely empty) you might want to either nullcheck or use a helper rule to simplify this process.

You can use following function:-
length( array )
array: (Any Type Array) The array in which to calculate the number of elements.

If you expect nulls to be valid, count(local!array)

The best way to check this is:

if(a!isNullOrEmpty(local!array),
count(local!array),
length(local!array)
)

With this expression you can control all the cases.
