I would look into DocuSign's REST API documentation - developers.docusign.com/.../reference. This should cover how to create an envelope, add a document, and send to a recipient.

I believe DocuSign has also webhooks that can send updates to an Appian WebAPI when a document is signed - developers.docusign.com/.../webhook-status
