An internal group is looking at using Appian for a document release approval workflow, but they'd only consider it if there way a way to include historically-approved documents as well so they could shut down their old solution completely.

*Completely serious question* Is there a good way to upload ~10,000 documents to Appian?...

  • This is doable. How exactly you implement it will depend on how you want to organize and annotate those documents, but for starters, there is a "Bulk Upload" button on the Documents Designer interface, which accepts a zipfile of files and folders.

Otherwise you are probably looking at some sort of automated process that loads documents in via the API. Depending on how the documents are currently accessible, you could make use of existing smart services like Receive File via SFTP or Collab/Filesystem Utilities.
