Granting READ,WRITE,EXECUTE to user account on Linux (Centos)

Hello Team,

Please, do you know of a command in linux that can help grant a user account read, write, execute when configuring a linux box.

When installing appian, I keep getting permission issues when executing the search server.

Is there a way to fully grant a user full permission to a folder and sub folders in Appian - Linux?

Thanks
