Email Template: In an Send Email node you have the ability to pick a text/html template from a knowledge center. Is it possible to set the template to be used via the document id of that template? For example, I could based on a notification type retrieve a document id from a database that would depict the template

Unfortunately that is not a built-in option. The template must be selected in the process modeler so that you Appian can read the template and provide you the substitution grid. Live processes cannot dynamically select new templates. Relevant documentation:

If there aren't too many template options, one way around this would be to set up each send email node and then use an XOR gateway to choose which template/node to use.

@mikec To the best of my knowledge, this can be doable by making use of the 'Text From Template Function' shared component at https://forum.appian.com/suite/tempo/records/type/components/item/i4BCLGOdlMUpdGVqT-RV7oRg74uEGJO7CD7GGziLXU7FSv9LMOIpHXUzdRjv0cv/view/summary. With help of this, you can select the desired template and populate its content at runtime, which will further help you in building a reusable notification model.
