Has anyone successfully sent an escalation to a non Appian user? I have tried to use the toemailaddress() function in the recipient field of the escalation, but it does not send the email to that user. It does send it to the other people in the list, who are users in Appian. Thanks.

toemailaddress() should do the trick as long as you pass a string/pv with an email address. However, some email servers have restrictions and doesn't let you send emails outside your domain. That would be a non-Appian related configuration though.
