To clarify, did you maybe mean Appian 7.11? Appian 7.1 had an end of life in 2014.
The product documentation for all versions can be found under Records > Appian Software Documentation.

I suggest working through the Tutorial in 7.11 for Application Building. It's a good place to get started.

Got familiar with few of the concepts , But still not able to get the border picture of appian.
So can you please suggest me any reference application which demonstrate Appian best practices. And using which i can get real-world usage of the Appian product?
