In Appian 16.1 - what are the precise constraints about mobile devices uploading documents using SAIL (word / pdf etc.)
On the couple mobile devices I have tried my selection seems limited to taking photos, uploading photo's or dawing a signature. Our use case is that the process involves uploading supporting documentation which may be located in mobile accessible repositories such as dropbox, goodgle drive, onedrive, iCloud or the android file system.

I've seen this is achievable through other mobile applications (the Yammer app is an example).
Are there particular versions of IOS and android that can meet this use case?

  • This type of functionality is mandatory if we are truly deploying omni-channel functionality. Uploading supporting documentation for a form process is very common - and it is ever increasing that mobile device users are using both local and cloud storage options for their originating file locations, The Appian mobile app must be able to interact with these location to upload and download files as necessary - and as would occur on a desktop.
