Search on Records

We're using a grid to display a series of text columns for a record. Is there a way to configure which columns to which the search applies? Right now it seems to be searching only two of the five text columns

As per my knowledge, all the information present in the List View Item is searchable.
It seems like you have only 2 columns in the listView Item configured in the Record List.
You can add remaining 3 columns as well(If you do not want to show them then make sure they are hidden).
I hope this should solve your issue

It appears to be a deeper challenge than that! I've switched back to a listViewItem to display Feed style. However any values that I place in the 'title' are only searched if they are fields from the record itself, rather than calculated, or the result of an expression.
My case is I'm trying to use the 'User' record type, but identify users who are of user type "System Administrator", the user() function can return that value for me, but I can't search on it if I place it in the title

I was not able to do that in the Records(Users especially) but we can implement it through Reports. I am not sure whether this meets your requirements or not though!

Hey Richard,
I was testing the search functionality of all the columns in the Records with Grid Style.
I was able to do the search for all the columns in the Grid.
However, for the columns of type Integer, I was not able to do a like search(Eg: If the field value is 98821, 88 or 21 is not helping but 98821 search works!).
I don't think there is any specific configuration for the search.
Let us wait what other practitioners would say about it.

Feed search is controlled by the title parameter of a!listViewItem(). Grid style searches will include all columns of the grid

@Ashley, I don't think it's true that feed style record only search title. For example, on forum I can search Support Case records. If I search for 'plugin', I successfully get back all results that contain plugin anywhere in case comments, not just those that mention it in the title. Any thoughts?

@Jim - I'm not sure why it's searching on fields not in the title on the Support Cases record. If you look at the product docs record list, you can't search on any word other than the title.

Ashley/Jims - that is part of the puzzle, doc says 'title' only, but that's true only if you populate the title from record fields. If, for example, you use a function to derive a value and place that in the title, you can't search on the result.
