Best Practices for Custom Group Types

Are there any references available to the best practices around the use Custom Group Types? Is this still a feature customers still or should use?

Thanks for the links. I think this was the relevant line from the documentation. "Avoid creating custom group types unless there is a strong need/requirement."

Go for the appian playbook reference on any related topics that are related to custom group objects instead of directly searching for custom group alone. That can save your time too.
