If you are exposing a process model as a Web service then to pass inputs to your service, simply make the required process variables which you want to work as an input as parameters.
However, as an output of the service you can only get the process instance Id. (Process id of the instance which is spawned when the service executes successfully).

thanx Aleksi and siddhart.. I tried it but then I am able to send inputs through "call web service" smart service but those values are not reflected in the called web service in debugging mode ...and if I make the variables in the web service required the service does not gets invoked..and making the variables as parameter does not fetch me the values sent from the smart service.

When I'm trying to expose a process model as a web service which have a CDT as a parameter its giving an error i.e. "Process Models that contain parameters which are custom data types cannot be exposed as Web Services. The following parameters prevent this model from being exposed: {processVar1} (APNX-1-4053-001)" ... is there any workaround to this?
