Does Appian Support Microservices

I have the main application developed using Appian and I want to communicate with other internal/external systems through microservices.
For example, one application (Appian) exposes its processes through SOAP web services and the other(Appian) exposes some functionalities through REST. These applications represent the microservices.
Also, I want to communicate via REST with an external microservice developed in Java.

Could this scenario be possible using Appian?

What do you mean with "implement microservices architecture using Appian"?

Connecting to other microservices is not an issue, Appian supports incoming and outgoing REST APIs.

In theory, you could do a form of microservices by having different apps within Appian which you all expose as APIs and then have a central app call those APIs.

But it would only apply to really complex apps where you need to split it to be able to isolate the different parts of the apps (and development teams).
