During this time, the site will be read-only and user registration will be disabled. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but a more secure, stable, and performant Community experience is coming soon!
The new Appian Community launches August 3, followed by Appian Academy on August 7. During the migration, Appian Community Edition, Appian Academy, Documentation, Certifications, Instructor-led Customer Training, Partner Sales Training & Accreditation, and Forum (for Appian Partners and Customers only) will remain available.

I see this was posted 7 years ago, now I am trying to develop an application which need to read the weight from a weight scale. now is there any good way to implement it?
Best regards,
Lin
Nope. Still not a good fit. You are talking about hardware. How do you want to use any software here?
The only way I can see this working in Appian is if the scale was connected to the internet and accessible via an API.
Yes. Connect the scale to a Raspberry Pie. Then develop a web API on it to allow calls to or from Appian.
This is not exactly simple, but a few years ago, I connected Appian to my smart home switching lights on and off. But I do not have any code anymore I could share.
