Hi Team,
I came across a use case where I have a Document Repository where Excel files were dumped by an external system and wanted an Appian BPM process to automatically picked the file, convert it into CDT, parse it/massage it (based on business requirement) and then do further processing with the data.
Please note that these excel are dynamic in nature (templates are yet to be standardize) and have macros in it.
As I am new to Appian world, was wondering what may be the best approach to handle this by using Appian capabilities.
Would request if someone can put some light and thoughts on how to handle this.
Thanks and Regards,
UM

Hi,
Please find the following two approaches.
1. If you want to dump your data first in DB and process it further then use below smart services available in the excel tools plugin
2. If wanted to process your data in the process itself then use the "Read Excel" smart services available in the excel tools plugin and convert into CDT and process it further.
Thanks for responding...
I am aware of these approaches...the excels which we need to processed are complex in nature, they have functions, formulas, macros etc and sometime the number of columns can also be more.. Will this Import CSV to database and Import Excel to Database will work?
Please suggests.
