We are trying to build a custom smart service for integrating Appian and SharePoint using Kerberos authentication. We are using SPNEGO libraries for same. SharePoint has list of out of the box web services and we are utilizing them for the integration over kerberos. We tried accessing the SharePoint Web services through Java classes we were able to establish the connection and also were able to do transactions between the standalone java and SharePoint. When we wrapped the java class using smart service and deployed into Appian, we are facing some issues due to some configurations at the JBOSS 6.1. Below the error that we are getting _________________________________________________________________ javax.security.auth.login.LoginException: Failed to create LoginMo dule(com.sun.security.auth.module.Krb5LoginModule), msg=com.sun.security.auth.module.Krb5LoginModule cannot be cast t o javax.security.auth.spi.LoginModule _______________________________________...

We created a special API-URL to access our SharePoint that is configured to allow NTLM and is locked down to access from our Appian servers. This way we can use the OOTB Appian functions.

I wrote about SharePoint integration. It has nothing to do with authentication, but be sure that you call the right services. Integration with the REST API in read and write works very good for us and is the recommended (by Microsoft and Appian) way.
