We need to generate document using template , and found a cloud-approved plugins named "Advanced Document Templating"

This plugin looks good. We quickly developed a POC and it is working fine. However, inside plugin community page, someone posted comment about "troublesome with version upgrade", which cast some doubt on this plugin.
Want to check , is there anyone else using this plugin and run into similar version upgrade issue, or anyone with successful story on using it,
