Appian SharePoint Plug-ins shows this error even though all web services validated using browser. "The source was not found, but some or all event logs could not be searched. To create the source, you need permission to read all event logs to make sure that the new source name is unique. Inaccessible logs: Security"

In your registry, make sure authenticated users are added to the permissions of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\System\\CurrentControlSet\\Services\\Eventlog and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\System\\CurrentControlSet\\Services\\Eventlog\\Security
Also take a look at

Aleksi, could please provide justification why SharePoint module accessing windows log, Our SharePoint team seems this as risk to making changes to windows security log changes in registry for everyone. Do we have any other alternatives?

According to Microsoft, Windows logs are one of the locations that Sharepoint writes events to:
msdn.microsoft.com/.../gg193966(v=office.14).aspx
You shouldn't have to make these changes for everyone, just the Sharepoint server

This setting already enabled at SharePoint server level. still the issue is not resolved. What we have done was (1) Assign SP admin in share point application global pool, SP admin is part of windows administrator group. Both event-log and security registry entries Administrator grouped assigned and having full permission. The SharePoint integration documentation is not clear what settings we need to do? Please suggest?
