Is function getcontentdetailsbyUUID is supposed to work with any UUID or

Is function getcontentdetailsbyUUID is supposed to work with any UUID or jsut conent UUID?
The function is not working for portlet UUID, Page UUID, etc. It is working only for conent UUID.
Any other way to find missing object after running inspect on application before importing?

Appian v6.5.3...
