Can cloud users use Group Management Plugin (v1.0.0)? We had this deployed to our DEV site but in reading the documentation, it says to publish the data store....and that there should be a new group record available but I don't see that. Should the cloud team have done this or do cloud users have to create the data store?

  • Hi Judy -
To get up and running with GMTA, you need to:

    (1) deploy the group management plugin, which you've referred to. For cloud instances, Appian support will deploy the plugin upon request.
This plugin exposes functions that will be used by the Group Management Tempo Application, (GMTA)

    (2) Import the GMTA application. Unless special arrangements have been made with Appian support, this would be done by one of your own Appian designers or administrators. That resource should publish the GMTA DS following the import.
It is this application that exposes the Groups record.

Note, too, that this application ships with a set of Appian groups for securing the groups record. A typical deployment of GMTA will require a user be a member of 'GMTA All Users' in order to view the groups record.
Also, in order to use the related actions to modify group membership via this record, a user must be an administrator of the given group.
