What is it that you are looking for in terms of XLST smart service? And, with the read and write, what kind of files are these and what is it that you plan to do with the files? Are they to be sent to another system? More details on your use case would help in providing suggestions.

Ravi, I need to invoke SOAP web service based on the data I receive from XML input 2. another usecase is create HTML Email template dynamically based on XML input data. rather than maintain as part of process variable.
regarding file, we are planning to check File to trigger process during certain intervals as batch and move the files into different location in file system after processing file contents.

Providing use cases generally helps the wider community to provide better suggestions. The more detailed and clear the use cases are, the more the community can help. Thanks for sharing your use case here.
For calling a web service based on an XML input, what exactly is the challenge you are facing? I might not be understanding your use case completely, but I would think that this is a case of using logic nodes to determine which service to invoke based on the data you receive.
Regarding dynamic email HTML templates - you could probably use a bit of JS inside your HTML and control how the html is rendered. What design are you currently using and what are the challenges you are facing?
And regarding the third use case - there is a smart service to read files from filesystem (Shared Components - Smart Services - Appian Collab/File system utilities).

Thanks for the update Ravi, We are trying to use "Call Web Service smart service" to invoke webservice by passing SOAP XML. so it would be better to have XSLT to generate the SOAP message rather than hard coding.
Regarding Email template I will see JS is option will work or not.
surely I will look at the File system smart service for my third use case to check whether file polling supported or not..

webservicequery rule would help to generate or pass the SOAP request data dynamically. Also HTTP plugin could be used in addition
