Retrieve number of pages in PDF document

Is anyone aware of a way to get the number of pages in a pdf document? I have a document of varying length that I need to extract a number of pages from the end of. I found the pdf creation shared component, but I'm struggling to find a way to get the total number of pages. Hopefully it's something obvious that I'm just not noticing. ...

You could consider creating a custom expression that takes in the PDF documents and returns the number of pages. iText library should have APIs which can help in this.

That's what I ended up doing. I was hoping there was an existing function that would handle it. The plugin is really simple and didn't take long at all to build.
