Smart Service is invoked twice from Process Model

I have a Smart Service which is publishing to JMS Queue. I am seeing this smart service plugin is called twice from the Appian Process. This doesn't happen every time, but some time it happens. Has any expierenced similar issues?. How is the communication between Java plugin and KEngine?. Do we have an option to specify the QoS as 'Exactly Once', when we call Smart Service Plugins.

From my understanding putting a smart service in a model and have it executed exactly once ( Check the "other" tab) has to result in the code being called exactly once as well. So I think there is something going wrong.
Did you check the log files?
