Does anyone have experience/guidance implementing encryptionService

We'd like to import legacy data into our Appian database, but are using an encrypted text field for new data. As a result, we'd like to run the import through a java application that implements java encryptionService in a way that the Appian EncryptedText field will be able to display the resulting data to our users, but we have no idea where to begin.

You can create a plugin and access it through the API.
forum.appian.com/.../Appian_Data_Types.html
"An Encrypted Text value is only decrypted when displayed as the value in an EncryptedTextField or within a plug-in using the EncryptionService public API."

As per my knowledge you should also think about data base field size while storing encrypted text in database. Because it encryption field returns sequence of characters(as it gets encryption so it generates hash values)
