getdatasubsetdownloadlinkfromrule break in 17.1

Hi All,
Our current implementation to export data from a datasubset using the following plugin broke in the 17.1 release. Does anyone have a similar issue and/or know of a possible solution? An approach without the use of process models would be ideal.
As a reminder for those using this plugin, a general example within sail would be:
local!uri: getdatasubsetdownloadlinkfromrule(rule:rule!RuleThatComputesInputParameterAndReturnsExportableDataSubsetCDT,input: local!jsonString)
The design of this plugin allowed the return of a datasubset from a queryrecord with local!jsonString applied to the logicalExpression.

@anushuk611 the deprecation page you listed talks about deprecation of the Appian platform, it will not mention deprecation of plugins. Download DataSubset has been replaced by Excel Tools.

A custom plug-in is custom code, not shipped with the Appian product, and wouldn't be identified in release notes, nor follow any deprecation process. The plug-in author has previously recommended using a different plug-in going forward as earlier mentioned in this thread.
