Hi,
When I try to publish a portal, I am seeing the following error:
Publishing error. Could not publish. When connecting directly to an external data source you must use a data source connected system. Check the following data sources: jdbc/Appian.
Please help.

Hi, You need to create a Connected System for Appian Default Database Schema and need to use the Same in Data Store.
Thank you. That helps. Just need to check on how to create that Connected System.
Please refer the below url,
https://docs.appian.com/suite/help/22.4/data-source-connected-systems.html,
You need to ask the credentials from the Admin team of your platform.
These credentials
Not sure about the impact of changing the existing password of the Appian schema on all the existing data stores and records.
Not, it will not impact anything either it was already generated or if we need to generate newly.
Password for Appian DB is never exposed. If you reset the passwords, then I don't think the existing connections will work and you will have to re-map them.
Hi Harsha,
I'm a product manager at Appian working on portals feature. I wanted to ask you which version of Appian you're on. In 23.1, we allow you to connect to record types and process models directly without needing a connected system, however, in some scenarios, users were receiving this error message. It was fixed in the hotfix that was released on March 17.
If, however, you are trying to connect to external data source, you will still need to set up a connected system object.
Hi Elizabeth,
Thank you for that. We should be upgrading to 23.1. We are currently on 22.4.
I am working on the Appian IDP application.
I have trained it on some single-page documents, and it is perfectly working for single-page documents.
Now, I have a document that consists of some text fields and a table. The table is starting from page 1 and going up to page 2, but for this document only the single page is getting extraction for the table. I am unable to choose the table information on the following page.
Can someone else also face this problem, and do we have any solutions for it?
Thanks in advance.
