Has anyone heard of or seen a plug in that allows users to vote for a post on tempo? We have a feedback process and was looking for a function that would allow a user do a thumbs up or thumbs down for a feedback post and then expose a count by feedback. This would work much like the ability to star a post. But in this case you would be selecting eithera thumbs up or thumbs doen action. ...

?If your feedback is modeled as records, you could make use of the related actions to get a thumbs up/down on the feedback. For thumbs up/down on posts, you could consider giving a link to a process start form under More Info or consider the "Open a case" option (
forum.appian.com/.../Mobile_Case_Management)
. With the former, the link may not render correctly on mobile devices and the actual link may not open the process within the app. The latter option may not be intuitive to users, and only allows for one action - Thumbs up or Thumbs down.?

Another option is to use the 'Action' within a tempo post (see
forum.appian.com/.../Post_Event_to_Tempo_Smart_Service)
to trigger a process that collects the users' response and posts it back to the tempo feed as an aggregated value OR creates a new feed on a regular basis showing the details. You can make the action in such a way that clicking will show the existing no of thumbs up and down as well.

Do you know if the action link that appears in the feed is configurable? I like this idea but would want the link to say something like "Vote" then it kick off this voting process. Then I could take the vote as a count and post totals back into the original post as well as set up a report that aggregates all the posts and the count of votes

At the moment, when an action is associated with the post, it will say "Open a case". However, it'd be merely a user training to tell the user what it means. As soon as they click, the first form that comes up could have the heading of "Vote" with the current no of + votes and - votes etc.,

The link provided earlier by Arjun is the option that Sathya is referring to. From our experience, associating an action allows the user to enter a comment and that would be it. You could add an instruction for the action where you explain what this Open a Case is about. A process is started in the background and the user generally do not see any other form and they stay in the same Tempo interface (
forum.appian.com/.../Mobile_Case_Management)
.

That's correct. Here is another option. If you can create a 'Record' for the items, and have a related action in the Record to Vote, then you can include the link to the record in the Forum post which will take them to the Records dashboard and users can use the related action to vote. It adds an additional click but this is another work-around keeping the solution tempo centric.
