Process model locks

Hi All,
Does anyone happen to have some advanced technical details on Process Model Locks, especially with respect to how and when locks expire? I'm seeing an issue after using the Republish Process Models plug-in, a process model will remain locked for much longer than usual and I'm worried about potential impacts on future application import attempts.

For reference, the process models I'm monitoring for their locks were republished under an admin user account that has neither logged in nor logged out in the time right before or since. The locks have been stuck for ~25 hours so far.

Usually a user logging out will relinquish all locks they are currently holding. Is it not possible to have that system admin user account log out?

This is for an environment where it's inconvenient to require that user account to be logged-in and logged-out again (hence the usefulness of the Republish plug-in). So it can be done as a workaround, but doesn't seem like a long-term solution.

Have you found a solution for this? It's quite weird that the plugin locks the republished process models. If you want to import again the app it breaks on each of them due to being locked ...

@Karlg: pretty much nothing has changed AFAIK; the user who holds the credentials to the Admin account just gets to log on and back off after Republishing is done. If that's not possible, what you can do is open each process model for the app you're trying to import, and break the lock manually - which isn't too bad as long as it's not a lot.

It just defeats the purpose of the plugin! Each time you wish to deploy after using the plugin all process models affected will warn you with their locks ...
I just wish to find a way to remove the locks else our whole solution based on this plugin is good for nothing :\\

If the user account is logged on / off, all locks are broken immediately. Is there no way to make this happen for you?

Complicated as the user is Appian Administrator.
We toggle some process model to run under the appian admin like an app pool would run with a service account with all privileges needed (so it won't be someone directly linked to the execution but a service account).
The only way we found to apply this change (republish the process models under appian admin) is with this plugin. But we won't get far in the end it the process stays locked.
It's another problem at the core but we had high hopes with this plugin.
