Dear colleagues, I need your help about an issue. I need to reassign

Dear colleagues,
I need your help about an issue. I need to reassign a form to another user for business purpose. I used the reassign escalation to accomplish that. I update a user type variable with a new user value and I am trying to reassign a task to the new user that the variable points to. In Appian 7.4 everything was fine.
But after upgrading to Appian 7.10 in process history tab seems that escalation doesn't work.
Does anyone have the same problem?

Thank you ashwins again. But the suggestion you have made didn't work either. When I return back a form or submit it to go to next level , the escalation seems to be completed. In Process Monitor now we have the new asignee but also the previous one. The problem is that when I log in to another test user , in tasks doesn't show up that the form has been reassigned to him. So it's not allowed to accept the task. The task is assigned to the previous user.
