MS Word 2007 Doc from Template

I was unable to reproduce the issue. The header text with 2 forward slashes "//"(TITLE//AUTHOR) generated fine with the smart service. The issue might be with something else in the document. Can you try removing the forward slashes from text and see if the issue is still persisting? Also, can you attach the error screenshot?

If you still think the issue is with //, you can try this-
1. In the word document, make header text as a hashtag
2. Populate the hashtag with the text "TITLE//AUTHOR" via an expression rule or pv.

Yes, I tried that with the hashtag and I still have the same issue.

The issue isn't in generating the Word Doc, the issue is finding the hashtags in the document when the header includes "//". To recreate the error put the header in the word doc TITLE//AUTHOR. In the body of the word document insert several ###pv1###. The consecutive "//" cause Appian to do some weird things when trying to parse the hashtags.

No luck in reproducing the issue yet. Created a new template "Test word doc template" with "TITLE//AUTHOR" in the header. Included several hashtags in the document and populated through pvs (Refer attached "Process model configuration"). Document got generated correctly and the hashtags are parsed correctly. Am I missing something in understanding the issue?

@Jasonn, Can you please share your header template? or please parse it through XML(document.xml) where you can identify any misplacement's of hashtags.

The hashtags are correct. The template worked absolutely as expected until I added the header.
@ rajasekhard - the only difference with mine is that my header is size 16, centered, and I have many more hashtagged variables. I'll keep trying different permutations until I get the exact cause but I am sure that my template works until I add the header.
