What is Appian or other practitioner experience / recommendations to build basic features in Appian site other than task report / grid?

We are planning to use Appian site feature to allow user to perform at least basis functions in site such as submit new request (Trigger Action and chaining), initiate related action and perform assigned task. What is Appian or other practitioner experience / recommendations to build basic features in Appian site other than task report / grid.

    We have few unattended notes to get data from external systems since we are using activity chaining. I know action trigger is trigger process asynchronously in any SAIL page via bind. Are you saying it will show chained tasks if we use Start Process writer plug-in? Could you please elaborate this point. "Any of the SAIL forms in a chain may have a Start Process Writer to trigger an action.."
