Anyone using web analytics on Appian? We embed either Google Analytics or Omniture on our websites. Based on our response from Appian support it doesn't seem like this is possible. I find that difficult to believe given how long web sites have used analytics, so I thought I would reach out to this group to see if anyone has accomplished this.

Support is right.
I can think of a work around, on submit or user interaction. Create a writer plugin or use built in web service connectors to call the Analytics api/web service. There's lot more depth to this. The biggest limitation is it's not like real Google Analytics or Omniture but only on user interaction.

Could you explain your use case. I think Appian is not a website, but a BPM application platform. So I wonder what you want to do.

Appian is both in my eyes, and as such both process metrics and web analytic metrics can provide value. Below are some metrics I would gather:
1) Geolocation of where my traffic is coming from
2) What browsers/devices are they using
3) what are the paths they are using to get to the website
4) How am I driving traffic through the processes
5) What is my active counts of users and the devices/channels they are coming from
6) Potential security concerns based on point of origin of the traffic
7) Page response time metrics
8) Site uptime monitoring vs Appian SLO's
There are a couple of ways to get at pieces of this data, but allowing me to embed analytics javascript on each page would aggregate it all in one place.
Hopefully that helps make the use case a little more clear.
Thanks!

Data describing *current* user activity, including IP addresses and browers can be viewed from the admin console.
The Appian Health Check Analysis report now displays charts detailing unique logins per month and average logins per hour. Server metrics can be found there also.

Thanks Rob. Can you get trending on browsers or just current activity? Do the server metrics include page response times? Appreciate the help, at least this gives us a little bit of the data we are looking for.

Hi Ryan -
The user activity/user agent in the admin console is really more of a snapshot than a trend.
Server metrics do show HTTP response times. But I'm not sure about viewing them by the form in this iteration.
More info on working with the health check is here.

Keep an eye out for new releases as Appian's Center of Excellence regularly updates the data collection and analysis tools.

Normally you have a webserver like Apache or IIS in front of JBoss and Appian. So you can do some of the analysis there.

Unfortunately in this case we are running Appian Cloud, so we don't have any options to try and get at the data through the web server.
