How exactly do I have to define my CDTs in order for them to work with the torecord() function? Do I need to give the CDT the name of the root tag or can I give it an arbitrary name? How exactly does the mapping work internally? Thanks in advance!...

Moritz, the XML passed as the input must have the same namespace as that of the XSD for your CDT.
