AI and Agentic Automation

Choosing the right topic can make the research process much easier. I usually look for a subject that has enough reliable sources, clear research questions, and room for discussion or analysis. Some students may consider whether to pay for research paper assistance, but I think understanding the research process and developing your own ideas is an important part of academic work. What factors do you consider when selecting a research topic?

The Appian environment language was switched from English to Spanish via the console. The problem is that label names have now disappeared from the processes, and the interfaces included in "User Input Tasks" have vanished. Why is this happening, and how can it be fixed—given that the language must remain Spanish (we cannot revert to English)? I have 90 processes; is there an automated way to handle this?

Hi Folks, I am using Appian AI Skill to extract the data from a pdf document. I uploaded multiple documents in the same batch and some of the documents are failing and giving the below-mentioned error.  Did anyone face the same issue or any insights into it? Your help is much appreciated.

Hi Everyone, I am facing an issue while creating an Extraction Model using AI Document Center. During the Extraction Model creation wizard (Steps 1–6), the final step displays the list of objects that will be created ( 4 AI Skills and 2 Process Models). After clicking “Confirm”, I receive a success message indicating that the Extraction Model has been created successfully. However, the underlying objects that are supposed to be generated are not actually created. I have verified this across the entire environment and cannot find the AI Skills or Process Models that were listed in the final step. Because these objects are missing, when I try to run the extraction from the UI, the process fails with an error indicating that the required Process Model cannot be found. A few additional observations from my debugging: This issue started occurring only recently. The same setup was working fine earlier. No application objects or configurations have been modified. The E

Yes, reaction time can be trained daily with consistent practice. Short sessions of 5 to 10 minutes using tools like the Human Benchmark test are effective. Daily repetition helps the brain adapt and respond faster to stimuli. However, overtraining can lead to fatigue, which may temporarily reduce performance. It is important to balance practice with rest and proper sleep. Incorporating different activities such as gaming, sports, or coordination drills can also enhance results. Over time, daily training can significantly improve both speed and consistency in reaction performance.

Hi Team, I am facing an issue while using AI Chat Agent. I have created a chat agent and plugged in with an interface rule. When I start with conversation, it has started and entered into “Thinking” status and not producing the response even though the instance is completed successfully (I checked it via Monitor tab). How to fix this issue? Is this issue specific to my appian enviornment (Current version is 26.6)?For one of the instances, I did not get the response even after waiting for more than 5 hours. Please refer to the attached screenshots for your reference. Note, Is there any possibility to test a chat agent before integrating with an interface rule? Currently, we able to test Process Agents before we integrate them with a process model.

Is AI Composer designed to generate a common application template regardless of the provided requirements?I've been experimenting with it using a relatively simple single-page application use case. However, instead of generating an application tailored to the specific requirements, it consistently produces a generic application template with standard pages and little to no relevant actions or functionality.Has anyone else experienced this behavior? Are there any best practices for prompting AI Composer to generate more use case-specific applications, or is the current expectation that it primarily creates a baseline template which needs to be refined manually afterward?

Unsure if there is a place to provide feedback on the DevAgent/MCP capabilities, but I am putting it here for lack of anything else.  I have been using this extensively the last week as I am trying to create a sales demo.  In this process i have found a few issues.1 - AI Skills.  DevAgent when it modifies them, actually messes them up and I need to re-create them.  It changed the input parameters and needless to say the AI skill does not work after that.  The visualization in the process model is also incorrect.  Unsure how/why it does that, but it is an issue2 - Given #1, I asked it to fix some json output from the AI Skill but do not modify the AI skill.  IT modified the AI skill anyway.  It also thought there was an error in the AI Skill so ti tried to fix it and back to #13 - Many times it tried to fix a process model and gets stuck trying to fix it.  It spent 7 hours tryiung to fix an issue.  It should stop or ask for some guidance.  But within Claude, using the DevMCP, it spent t

Hi, I am quite excited to finally use the AI Dev Agent in 26.6 which was installed for us yesterday. I asked the system to generate a simple expression rule as a test and was impressed with the plan, but it could not create and threw some errors on network connectivity.  My AI engines are enabled (several of those), I tried to access with InPrivate browser just in case, but keep getting several of these errors in the Tomcat log:   [Appian Timer - 2] WARN com.appiancorp.common.ObjectSynchronizer - 1 services were missing users Is there some configuration that remains (not sure where I would be specifying a service user)?

I have been working hard to get get the AI development parts of 26.6 up and running and I am stuck on a simple thing but I have no direction.  I have the Appian MCP setup;  but it is a read only and limited query type of MCP.  I learned of the DEvMCP and that is what I am working on.  I Have also learned that Composer does not build interfaces, there is a fix coming soon for that.  The Dev Agent does not work at all, seemly network errors but I have no idea what they are or what needs to be resolved I have no detail to know what to do.  The documentation does not say we need to enable something (We are using Appian Cloud). Now the real question.  When I set up the MCP for Claude, it is not using my user name.  It is something thing else, that the best I can tell does not exist.  The message is: INFO:lcp_mcp_server.server:Username: MikePrentice.  While that is my name… that is not my user name.  So where is it getting it.  I have searched a few places and that string value does not reall

when you create a agent and select a chat agent, then you try to add tool so if you will click on add tool then this error is coming by appian.

Hi everyone,I have been using Appian's "Plan Your Application" functionality with AI Copilot, and it has suggested a number of objects for my application. However, I have not generated any of those objects yet.Since creating the initial plan, the requirements have changed and I would like to go back to the beginning and provide an updated specification so that AI Copilot can generate a new application plan.I can't seem to find a way to return to the initial planning step or restart the planning process from scratch within the same session.

I use a viewer's account and try enter a new site, the account does not have permissions of the site. When I try enter the site, Appian alerting me to display  "403 Access Denied You don't have permission to view this page.", sometimes, an error is popped "An Error Has Occurred The Site xxx does not exit, has been deleted, or you do not have sufficient privileges to access its data." if I use designer's account, All are ok. I expect to display only one case - “403 Access Denied You don't have permission to view this page.”

My use case is that I want to display a read only field on the reconciliation form - the value in this read only field will be driven by another field that was extracted from the document. The read only field is there to provide extra context for the end user.Any recommended way for me to approach this? Thanks in advance!

My use case is that I want to be classify documents into one of several categories, then depending on the category, extract certain fields from it. My question is for this kind of use case, what exactly is the difference between using AI Skills to do this versus using AI Doc Center? Looking around, I see some people saying AI Doc Center uses more tokens and that it can handle more complex cases, but I can't see anything in documentation about if that's actually true or not, and anything about when you'd want to use one or the other. I've been in loops reading the same page over and over again, so at this point I might have missed something, but if someone's able to help point me towards an answer, that would be most appreciated!

When I test AI Agent it is working as expected and giving result. But when I incorporated it within Process model, it is giving error: Agent 250512b0-a322-45b6-85c5-525b87755a8c could not be found. So, I created another AI agent and getting same error stating Agent could not found. I have double checked the UUID of the AI Agent it is correct. What could be the reason? In Admin console for our environment AI services are enabled and active.

Hi Team, Our chat agent is intermittently failing when attempting to execute tool calls. End users are receiving one of the following error messages during these interactions: Tool execution failed: Downstream tool request failed I'm currently experiencing a system issue retrieving the data.

How accurate AI Agent works same task with different data. Will it hallucinate or imagine things and provide output? Does it reconcile based on the repeated tasks or does it take every new data as new task?

Hello everyone, I’m configuring the Appian MCP Server in Appian 26.6 and I noticed a difference between the endpoint URL shown in the Administration Console and the one described in the documentation. In the Administration Console > MCP Server, the endpoint URL is displayed as: <ENVIRONMENT_URL>/mcp See Image 1. However, the documentation for enabling the Appian MCP Server says that the endpoint URL follows this format: <ENVIRONMENT_URL>/suite/mcpdocs.appian.com/.../enable-configure-mcp-server.html See Image 2. My question is: Which endpoint should be used when configuring an external MCP client in Appian 26.6? Should it be: <ENVIRONMENT_URL>/mcp or: <ENVIRONMENT_URL>/suite/mcp Has anyone configured this successfully and can confirm which URL is correct? Thanks in advance. Attachments Image 1: Administration Console showing the MCP endpoint as /mcp. Image 2: Documentation showing the MCP endpoint format as /suite/mcp.

Hi Team, We are evaluating AI Skills/Generative AI usage in Appian and would like to monitor token consumption for optimization and cost governance purposes. I have a few questions: Is there a way to view the input tokens, output tokens, and total tokens consumed by an AI Skill execution? Does Appian expose token usage metrics at the AI Skill or process level? What is the recommended approach to track and analyze token usage for prompt optimization? Has anyone built a custom monitoring/dashboard solution to estimate token consumption for AI Skills and Agents? thanks in advance.

I have configured a Chat Agent named "Roster Assistant" using a!agentChatField with the following setup: The agent is connected to our Roster Record Type as a tool. Field-level instructions have been configured within the record type. Agent goals and instructions are designed to: Respond to greetings such as "Hi" or "Hello". Retrieve and return roster information for users. Problem The agent does not respond as expected. Regardless of the message sent—including simple greetings like "Hi"—the chat either takes an unusually long time to process the request or eventually returns an error. Additionally, when reviewing the execution in the Monitor tab, the agent run remains in a "Processing" state for an extended period before ultimately failing with an error. As a result, the agent is unable to provide responses for even basic interactions, making it difficult to determine whether the issue is related to the agent config

Hello, I have built a chatbot in appian. I have two objects in my interface. First is a text box, which takes user question. And, the second is a button user clicks to send question to AI bot and get response. Currently, when text box loses focus, a local variable called isProcessing is turned to true(So the user can be shown that processing is occurring). And, when the button-press returns with AI response, the isProcessing is turned to false, and the AI response is shown to user. I want to have it so that when the text box loses focus, the local variable isProcessing is turned to true, as well as data being sent to AI bot. And, then when AI bot returns, the isProcessing is turned to false, and result shown. Is this possible? Thanks for your time.
