I am facing an inspect error for my application like below:
content _a-0000d99c-743b-8000-927a-010000010000_14884 "MMS_recalcReminders": The content [id= uuid=_a-0000d99c-743b-8000-927a-010000010000_14884] was not imported because a required reference is missing: Reference to datatype [null] (Content > Free-form Rule) cannot be found. (APNX-1-4070-001) (APNX-1-4071-006)
I do not face any issue when I import the application.
It's because I am using statements like cast( typeof( type!CDT() ), CDT) in my expression rules.
Any help to remove the inspect error would be appreciated....

You need to create a separate application that will only include your CDTs and import them before hand if you want to avoid the inspection error but there's no need since the import will work because the CDTs will also be created as part of the import which is something that the inspection cannot predict.

Reference to datatype [null] (Content > Free-form Rule) cannot be found. (APNX-1-4070-001) (APNX-1-4071-006)
It surfaces when you have use APN Common Objects

Hi Mark, This happens when you are referring to a CDT from rule. The referred CDT does not get displayed in rule or application dependency and hence expected to be in target environment while inspecting package.
