No records returned with ExecuteQuery function

Hi,
I am using the ExecuteQuery Function. It takes "DataSource" and "Query" as parameters and both have to be text.
It is working fine when I am selecting all the records from the table like "SELECT * FROM TABLE_NAME".However whenever I am specifying any particular field name it is not returning any record though I am providing the correct field name. Could anyone has any idea about this?...

Are you formatting that part of the query as table_name.field_name, or just field_name?

This occurs if the field contains any null value considering all the rows. To get the expected result you may use NVL() function.
