Hello,

I would like to know if there is a function that either cleans a Text of all XML special characters or even better if it transforms these XML special characters to their respective valid set of characters for an xml.

You mean someting like what this does in Java?
commons.apache.org/.../StringEscapeUtils.html
Perhaps you could make a smart service out of this method.

Another option would be to put the text with special characters inside CDATA
