I am trying to construct a Web API that queries a data entity and compares a field in that data entity with an array of values that I've stored in a local variable (created from another a!queryEntity). I've hardcoded the value in my first query so I know what results I should get in the second one. Both queries work individually, but I get this expression evaluation error when I combine them. Any suggestions on what I'm missing? I'm pretty sure that once I get this working, I'll also have to add something to account for null values in the first query....but that's another issue. See the attached file for the code.

@judym Try casting the local!checkIds to a desired data type. For instance, if checkId is of type Number Integer, configure the checkId query filter value as tointeger(local!checkIds).

The issue I could see as of now and as per my experience is, type of local!checkIds is resolving to Any Type and this could be confirmed by making a quick test with typeof() and typename() functions.

Let's see if any other practitioners could make valuable suggestions.

@sikhivahans - I have this working as long as there's data in the first query, but if the result set is {} or 'null' - I get the following error: "Expression evaluation error: Invalid index: Cannot index property "id" of type Text into type List of Variant" I know I have to include an if statement somewhere and I've tried several different versions - nothing seems to work. I've attached an updated version. Can you take a look at it?

@judym No problem, please find attached the modified code snippet and do let us know if it works for you.

Problem is that, the code is trying to access a field called 'id' in an empty dataset which is resulting in an error. In order to prevent this, you may use fn!index() (as mentioned in the attached code snippet) or fn!property().

@sikhivahans - I applied those changes and still got an error:
Expression evaluation error at function a!queryEntity [line 28]: Cannot apply a filter with a blank field name.
Line 28 is the start of the second query (with cons!ABC_AMOUNT_DS)

Just to let you know, afaik, the 'filter' should be configured with a valid value and if not, it should be configured as null, but it shouldn't be {}.

Thanks @sikhivanhans - I didn't get an error this time, but it brought back ALL the records in the second data entity (cons!ABC_AMOUNT_DS). If I hard-code the value in the first query - the results I get in the second one are correct. I think I'm on track now...I just need to figure out why the 2nd query brought back ALL the data. It should have brought back no data.

@ sikhivahans I used exactly what you last sent me (basically, replacing the {} with 'null'. Basically, if the first query results are 'null' - the second one brings back all the data. It should be bringing back 'null' as well since the second query is on a data entity that is a child to the first one.

I got it! I tested the second query with 'local!checkIds: {0}' and it worked so I changed the 'null' in the first query to {0} and it worked. I'm attaching the corrected code in case others may find it useful. Thanks for your help!
