isnull() is an out of the box function in Appian. In your Appian instance, it appears that someone has created a rule with the name "isnull", which is getting called from your rule. This might be causing the recursion issue. Can you try using fn!isnull instead, assuming you want to use the out of the box isnull function. Here is another post related to this error -

Are you still seeing the error is you use fn!isnull? Also, were you able to find a rule in your Rules tab which has the name isnull?. Here is an earlier post that describes how to delete/modify a rule which has the same name as an Appian function -
