How do we handle attributes of Appian types like User, Group, Documents etc while using CDTs. It is painful to convert and recovert it to the respective attribute type and also we can't eliminate PVs since only PVs can hold Appian type attributes. ...

Storing these types into the below respective cdt field typess, would help to convert it back to the respective appian attribute:
User pv - CDT.Field Text (stores user name)
Group pv - CDT.Field Integer (which saves group ID)
Document pv - CDT.Field Integer (which saves document ID)

The objects represent an ID in the background. For e.g. If I store a document, I need to simply store the ID of the document in the CDT (number field). When I get the value out, the value can be directly mapped to a pv! of type DOCUMENT and all the object related function should start working.
