Find expressions that use a function on server

I am deprecating two plugins and verifying that they are no longer used in our code base.
Is there a way to search our server to find any instances of a function used in expressions? I know this can be done by searching the application.zip files, but I would like to search directly on the server that Appian is installed on. Searching in <APPIAN_HOME>/_admin/models works great for finding the function in process models, but what about SAIL expressions?

expression rules / constants aren't stored as physical objects in the filesystem so can't be searched. Not ideal but the best option might be to simple remove the plugin and identify the applications that have errors about the missing functions.

You could also export an application containing all rules and then search the xml for references...? Might be a bit clunky.

Oh that's right, I forgot that expressions were moved out of the engines a while ago. Phil I like your idea. I can also search through our code trunk for each application but that excludes any active development.
