how to get the error message for a!writeToDataStoreEntity()
marky

Hello:
How can I obtain the error message related to a failed write to datastore using the a!writeToDataStoreEntity().
For debugging purposes the full error message would be useful to email to the support team.
Thank you,

Have you checked the application server log file?

No I want the error message programmatically so it can be included in an automated debug email sent to the support team.

Out of curiosity, what do you get from the onError parameter of the a!WTDS function, and what further detail would you want / expect? I've been using this function lately, but haven't yet looked at the onError data - so I'd like to know what to expect.

As far as I have used this function, nothing is returned on Error. It is an event without any details which will call the SAIL code written to be performed on event occurrence. You can just send mail to support about failure where they can monitor logs and check for issue.

Ah, yeah on second check, what @sagarl511 says is correct - "onError" just allows the designer to save back some custom error message but doesn't actually contain back-end error info AFAIK.

Apparently not only is the error not programmable, it also doesn't show in the logs. I will see if my company can put in a support ticket to have an enhancement done that makes the error message programmable.
