Can you not have both single columns and multi-column sections in the same form?

Can you not have both single columns and multi-column sections in the same form? When designing my form I have a section that is single column and below it another section (this one with header not showing) and it is a 3-column configuration. When I publish in Tempo the entire form is single column and the section I have configured as a multi-column the section header does not display at all and the content is in a single column. I thought that the multi-column formatting only stacked if viewing in a mobile device. Why is the form not adhering to my setup?
Thanks

Hi Mike,
Tempo and iPad forms can only have two columns. Only the legacy forms in the application portal can have more than two. Documentation below:
