It appears date fields are not taken unless the user enters/tabs/leaves the field before submitting the form. Eg if user just types 6/4/2015 and clicks on the form submit button the new date value is not taken. Is it possible to change this behavior? It's causing date entry issues for end users.

@hajii May I please know if you are using SAIL or Forms Designer? If you are using Forms Designer, are you making use of javascript/ jquery?

@hajji Out of interest may I know the version you are using and how long have you been experiencing this issue? I haven't heard of this scenario so far, this kind of weird behavior can be generally observed at times when the javascript/ jquery is used heavily. But as you saying that script isn't used, it might be worth checking the way the value is saved from acp to pv and their data types.

7.8 cloud and date's been like that as far as I can tell. User must enter/tab date field before submit for its new value to be taken. Do you see this in any of your forms? Should be easy to verify. I verified it also happens in SAIL date fields. I don't see issues with acp and pv's.

Using Forms Designer, I tried to replicate the issue, but everything seems fine. Not sure if I miss any specific scenario. Until we use some heavy script, this kind of behavior isn't seen. Additionally it might be worth trying a new acp instead of existing one.
And with respect to SAIL, as long as the user interacts with the SAIL component at any time, the value will be saved into PV after form submission, provided if mappings (acp -> pv) are perfect.
If there are any other special scenarios involved, let us know so that we can dig deep into the problem. Else let's see if any other practitioners comes up with similar experiences or solution for the same.

I've attached a app with a simple pm which illustrates the issue In its simple form: if you enter a new date value it is only taken if you tab or leave the date field before submitting the form. New value is not taken otherwise.

@hajji The application can't be imported because of dependencies. Could you please upload a new version which has no dependencies?

And here's another version which shows text inputs are taken without having to leave/enter the field but dates are not (at least in designer form). So user must enter/tab new date before submit for it to be taken in all cases.
