Metric Types

Appian Cloud systems are implemented to monitor key operational metrics and to notify appropriate personnel when certain operational thresholds are reached. This monitoring includes but is not limited to the following:

• Storage space availability
• Memory utilization
• Login page availability
• Production VPN tunnel status
• Appian Engine status
• Anti-virus alerts

Alerts

Appian monitors operational metrics across the Appian Cloud infrastructure to support the ongoing operation of the service. Monitoring activities help identify potential issues that may affect service performance or availability. Customer notifications are provided through established support channels when appropriate. Monitoring practices are reviewed periodically and may be updated as part of Appian's operational processes.

  • Disk Usage (>80%, >90%, >95%)
  • Memory Use (>80%, >90%)
  • Load metrics
  • Engine CPU Usage

• Application server
  • Heap usage
  • Application server response times over 3 seconds greater than 60% of requests

• Database
  • DB connection pool
  • DB replication error
  • Database Cluster health

• External system connectivity
  • Production VPN tunnel is down

• Platform components
  • Hardware is unavailable
  • Web server is unavailable
  • Application Server is unreachable
  • Appian Engines availability
  • Login page failed to load
