KB-2008 Service accounts log warning messages upon authentication

This issue has been resolved in an Appian hotfix/new Appian version. Please apply the latest hotfix to your Appian installation or upgrade to the latest version of Appian.

Symptoms

The following warning message appears in the application server log every time service accounts authenticate: 

WARN com.appiancorp.suiteapi.security.auth.AuthenticationProviderWrapper - Empty SCS key returned. <API user> will not be able to access Secure Credential Store.

It is expected that service accounts cannot access the secure credential store. This is because service accounts are intended only for invoking Web APIs. This message can safely be ignored.

Cause

The logging has been improved so that this warning message is not logged for service accounts. This issue has been addressed via AN-141740 in the following hotfixes/versions:
