KB-2306 Auto Generating Record Actions Error for Tables in Oracle

Symptoms

When attempting to auto-generate Record Actions for a record type, backed by Oracle tables that uses synonyms instead of the table name directly, the following error message displays:

Your record actions and supporting objects could not be created. Try generating them again or configuring manually.

Cause

Auto-generating Record Actions is currently unsupported for tables in Oracle that use synonyms for tables and sequences.

Action

This product use case has been logged to the Appian Product Team for consideration to add this functionality in the product: #6633 - Ability to Auto Generate Record Actions on Synced Records Using Synonyms (Oracle).

Workaround

In order to configure Record Actions, there are two options:

  1. Manually configure Record Actions.
  2. Remove dependencies on synonyms.
    1. Note: Auto-generating Record Actions works for Oracle tables not using synonyms.
